Pete MacLeod - EP Tour 2017 - Edinburgh
Pete MacLeod (and band) brings his 2017 EP tour to Edinburgh, support from Scott Douglas.
Pete MacLeod is a Scottish singer/songwriter with a knack for thoughtful, melodic music. Raised in the small mining town of Coatbridge, Scotland, MacLeod was heavily influenced by the music of Buddy Holly, The Beatles, John Lennon and The Rolling Stones. Throughout the 2000's, he independently released a string of singles, EP's and albums on his own record label.
He spent several years living in California before returning to Scotland to release the EP "Glasgow Keeps Me Real, California Let's Me Heal" in early 2013. The EP was well-received and the song 'Rolling Stone' was chosen as the single of the month on BBC Radio Scotland. MacLeod's music soon caught the attention of Creation Records founder Alan McGee, who signed the artist to his newly launched 359 Music label. In late 2013, MacLeod released the Rolling Stone LP, his debut for 359. 2015 MacLeod started working on his follow up LP with acclaimed producer YOUTH, (The Verve, Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, Crowded House). James McCartney, Son of The Beatles Paul McCartney, plays guitar on the album, as does The Verve and Gorillaz guitarist Simon Tong. The new LP titled Crestfallen was released in 2016 on MacLeod's own Stepping Stone Music label, distributed by London based label Cherry Red Records. Janice Long (BBC Radio 2) championed the album playing the first single 'Crestfallen' a record 14 times on her show.
