Event Details

Bad Manners Bad Manners, featuring the larger than life Buster Bloodvessel, arrive in Edinburgh with the perfect post-Christmas ska party night. All the hits are there, Special Brew, Lip Up Fatty, Can Can and many more, alongside live favourites like This Is Ska and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You. Support comes from Max “Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps” Splodge and Baby Dread; a brand new Judge Dread tribute. Ticket price also includes an after show party which begins as soon as the band leave the stage. Over 18’s only. Bad Manners formed in 1976, whilst the lads were still at school. They rode the wave of the second ska revival in the late 70’s and 80’s, alongside Madness, The Specials, The Beat and The Selector. After becoming popular in their native London, Bad Manners signed to Magnet Records and became regular guests on television shows such as Tiswas and Cheggers Plays Pop. In 1985, they were one of six bands featured in the 1981 documentary film Dance Craze. Some of their more notable hits include "My Girl Lollipop", "Lip Up Fatty", "Can Can", "Special Brew" and "Walking In The Sunshine". One of the main reasons for their notoriety was their outlandish huge-tongued and shaven-headed frontman, Buster Bloodvessel. His manic exploits got them banned from the BBC TV chart show Top of the Pops. The band was also banned from Italian TV after Bloodvessel mooned a concert audience, after being told that the Pope was watching on TV. More than 40 years on and Bad Manners continue to tour the world on the strength of their amazing live shows and catalogue of ska dance anthems. The UK Christmas tour has become a firm fixture on the gig scene and is always one of the highlights of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations. Due to the aftershow party this is an over 18's event.
